What to do if my sponsor cannot invigilate my exam?

As trainee, you must have a sponsor to help you get started with your exam. Sponsor plays an important role in invigilating your exam and entering the confidential PIN to help you get started on your exam.

It can sometimes happen, that your sponsor is not available due to personal or work reasons to invigilate your exams. In such circumstances, we do allow a registrant designate, who is a practicing RPF, registered with FPBC, to invigilate your exam temporarily.

Your registrant designate:

  • must be a practising registrant, i.e. RPF or RFT, in good standing with FPBC;
  • must not be related by blood or marriage to the trainee, per the Code of Professional and Ethical Conduct;

  • must not be in a subordinate position to the trainee.

Find a registrant designate by:

  • getting recommendations or suggestions from colleagues;
  • networking within your community (who do you look up to, who are you comfortable with?);
  • using the registry of BC forest professionals to identify individuals who work in your area; or
  • contacting the registration and compliance department for assistance.

Process to follow for this change:

  • Send an email to lmshelp@fpbc.ca
  • Mention the details about the situation and provide details of the registrant designate.
  • FPBC will send the instructions to your registrant designate to help you go through your exam.
